I started attending births as a doula in 2004 while working toward the DONA Birth Doula certification.  I became certified in January 2005.  In August 2006 I completed the Academy of Certified Childbirth Educators (ACBE) Childbirth Education certification.  I assist at Canadian Valley Integris Hospital one night of their seven week Childbirth Education class in going over comfort measures, breathing, relaxation and issues dealing with labor.

I will attend hospital or home births.  Both medicated and unmedicated births.  I mostly attend births in and around the Oklahoma City Metro area.

I'm  married and we have 4 children at home.  I've personally experienced both hospital and homebirth.  Birth is a normal process yet takes its own course with each person/labor.  I believe it's important to have a support team to assist a woman through labor to improve her birth experience.  Take time to research and educate yourself on all your birth options.
          My general services include:
  • 1-2 prenatal visits to go over birth plan, how you plan on laboring, birth options, comfort measures, getting to know you better
  • possibly 1 visit with you to your care provider
  • on call 24/7 one week prior to your expected due date up through one week after your expected due date or your birth for continuous labor support
  • 1-2 hours postpartum support at birth site
  • 1 in home visit postpartum to go over birth and any questions/concerns
